The Barista Touch™ Impress introduces new plant-based milk functionality to Breville’s AutoMILQ™ technology, a leading-edge solution that effectively and precisely froths oat, almond, soy and dairy milk according to their unique properties. With increasing households now drinking plant-based milks, and a majority of those milks being in coffee, Breville brings to market this thoughtful and intuitive machine that recognizes plant-based milk drinkers.
Developed by Breville's engineers, designers, and specialty coffee team, the new hands-free AutoMILQ™ feature reflects the growing change in the way people drink their coffee. Plant-based milks, due to their different fat and protein contents and frothing characteristics, can be more difficult to properly steam than dairy milk. The new AutoMILQ™ technology recognizes these differences and automatically calibrates the temperature, timing, air, and steam pressure for the user’s choice of milk, to ensure silky smooth ‘microfoam’ for perfect latte art and the best tasting coffee at the touch of a button. The Barista Touch™ Impress also features new touch-screen Barista Guidance, a smart technology developed by Breville to remove the complexity of dialling in the machine – the fundamental step in mastering a perfectly balanced espresso. Barista Guidance intuitively identifies adjustments to grind size based on extraction flow in real-time and offers helpful suggestions to ensure the user achieves their perfect shot. In addition, the Barista Touch™ Impress features Breville’s Impress™ Puck System with intelligent dosing for each choice of bean and selected drink type. The ‘assisted tamping’ lever on the side of the machine delivers a consistent and precise tamp with a 7º barista twist - just like the professionals. As the tamp twists, it automatically polishes the surface of the puck meaning more precision and less mess.
