How it works
1) Train to recognize off-notes, taints & positive flavours in coffee (our multi-lingual sensory specialists can help with that).
2) Enroll with our Coffee Calibration Scheme to maintain learnings & spot gaps.
3) Powerful, automated reports are generated in real-time using our sophisticated algorithm and web application (TVS 2.0).
More than a web application, we provide coffee tasters with a platform to train, enhance and maintain their sensory abilities!
Proficiency takes a coffee taster’s knowledge a step further and validates the established learnings they’ve gained. Blind tasting packs of FlavorActiV’s GMP Flavour Standards are sent out to coffee sensory panels around the world at specified intervals – these packs align with a series of tests that challenge flavour identification:
• Whether a flavor sample is in or out of specification
• Flavor intensity scoring
Once a coffee tasting session is complete and the panel leaders submit their results, they will be presented with a detailed breakdown of individual and panel performance across an entire region or organization.
We have designed and developed a custom web application (TVS 2.0) to power this scheme. As well as being mobile and tablet friendly, it’s also hosted on a fast, agile and secure global server network, so it works effectively on any device, anywhere in the world. Our web platform is browser ready, meaning nothing needs to be installed to start using it (just a simple login). The app has been designed with user experience in mind, making resources such as digital and printed ballot choices easily accessible.
Tasters are the QC backbone of the coffee industry and it’s incredibly powerful for brands to have ongoing insight into internal tasting abilities, as it is for individual coffee tasters to be able to validate their own abilities. From Q-Graders to coffee roasters, our platform helps calibrate sensory abilities at all stages of the coffee chain.
