Hy-Vee | Roaster's Reserve Compostable Single Serve Coffee Pods
Get the plastic out of your coffee with Hy-Vee’s new plant-based coffee pods. Made with renewable resources and certified compostable† by BPI, the coffee pods and freshness bag break down in commercial composting facilities. With a recyclable carton, this is a true no waste solution.
Hy-Vee’s Roaster’s Reserve single serve coffee pods are part of a new line of plant-based, single serve coffee pods designed to work with K-Cup®* style brewing systems.
Made from renewable resources, both the coffee pods themselves, along with the freshness bag are certified 100% compostable† by BPI.
After each freshly brewed cup of Hy-Vee coffee, the ring, lid, filter and brewed coffee grounds can be composted†, turning into nutrients for the soil. Likewise, when the freshness bag has been emptied of coffee pods, it can also be composted†, and the outer carton can be recycled, creating a true no waste solution to the problem of single serve coffee plastic waste.
The coffee pods are made with PURPOD100™ technology, which consists of three main elements:
1. Brown Ring: Made with coffee chaff, or coffee bean skins, and other compostable† materials. Utilizing the coffee chaff, a by-product of the coffee roasting process, creates a circular economy.
2. Lid: Made with plant-based, compostable† materials.
3. Filter: Made with plant-based materials.
The Roaster’s Reserve blend is a bold dark roast with a distinctive spicy bouquet, fragrant aroma and rich, smooth flavor.
