Hand-Pressed Air Puck Release Meets Circular Material Design
Traditional knock-based puck removal can be noisy, messy, and damaging to precision baskets. This dual-mode knock box introduces hand-pressed air-assisted ejection, allowing pucks to be released vertically with minimal contact. The result is quieter, cleaner, and low-wear operation for both home and outdoor brewing. The air-assisted function accommodates most unconventional espresso baskets from OutIn portable devices, as well as standard 51 mm and 58 mm bottomless baskets and portafilters. Portafilters with spouts are compatible only with the traditional knock interface, ensuring workflow flexibility across different devices. Constructed from recycled coffee-grounds composite, the knock box integrates waste directly into the product lifecycle, reducing reliance on virgin plastics and embodying a practical circular material strategy. The design extends the coffee value chain beyond brewing and cleaning, reinforcing sustainability in specialty coffee environments.
