Baristas constantly move their scales in and out during espresso preparation to avoid water dripping during flushing or purging from the group head. This small action happens dozens or even hundreds of times a day, interrupting workflow and increasing the risk of water or heat damage to sensitive electronic scales. Satellite – Coffee Scale Guard eliminates that step entirely. Its angled ribbed top surface redirects water impact and reduces splash-back, while the sloped drainage tray guides runoff safely toward the machine’s drip tray instead of onto the scale. This allows baristas to keep the scale in position throughout extraction, flushing, and purging. A raised base with an integrated air gap reduces heat transfer from the tray to the scale. In addition, a jigsaw-style locking system between the tray and the scale keeps the tray securely in place, preventing it from shifting during use.
