Inspired by the exploring nature of specialty coffee roasters and baristas, we at ander developed a technique to ground single origin cacao beans to the exact classification for almost all slow brew styles.
We only work with transparently sourced cacao beans, and apply a light roast to showcase the defined flavor of origin.
So coffee lovers can discover the great similarities between both cacao & coffee beans. Exploring a second hot beverage, sharing specialty DNA, hardware, brew recipes & origin experiences. And a whole new set of tastes & aromas.

One of our first filter roasts is a single origin coming from the isle of St-Vincent in the Caribbean. The Criollo variety cacao beans are fermented for 6 days (anaerobic, then aerobic) and the sun-dried in drying houses for on average 8 days. Expect an expressive profile, with notes of banana, rum and cane sugar. Citrusy at the start and quite dry in the finish.

This innovation follows the clear industry & customer preference for clean, transparent drinking experiences. The trend to control caffeine intake, but to get a functional drink with a natural source of energy, without sugars or additives. Filter cacao is as good as caffeine-free, but packed with theobromine, a natural long-lasting steady kick of energy without coffee jitters, so no moderation is needed.
